4th International Conference
22-24 June 2007, University of Stirling

Conference Background

CRLL was established in August 1999 with initial funding through a SHEFC Research Development Grant for a period of three years. It was the first such funded Research Centre in the UK, and is a joint initiative between Glasgow Caledonian University and the University of Stirling. The aim of the Centre is to undertake a programme of research which will inform the development of policy and provision in the field of lifelong learning. The Centre also organises a regular series of forums and seminars on lifelong learning, and produces a range of publications. Staff from the Centre are already involved in a wide range of co-operative activities with colleagues in Europe, North America, Australia and South Africa. This conference is designed to strengthen the international dimensions of the work of the Centre, and to deepen our understanding of issues associated with teaching and learning.

There are still places available for the CRLL 2007 International Conference 'The times they are a-changin': researching transitions in lifelong learning' which is taking place 22 - 24 June 07 in the University of Stirling.  To book your place please contact conference administrator or download a registration form.

  2. Inter-cultural transitions in learning

  4. Intra-institutional transitions

Unfortunately, Professor Paul Hettich, De Paul University Chigaco is no longer able to make a keynote presentation at the conference, and very kindly Professor David Livingstone from OISE in Toronto has agreed to present in his place

We are pleased to announce that five Scholarships of £100 have been awarded to assist with attendance at the conference.

The book from the 2005 conference 'What a Difference a Pedagogy Makes: Researching Teaching & Learning' which is being published by Routledge is now at the stage of final proofing and will be launched at the 2007 conference.
